The Grounds

Due to the vastness of the grounds, we offer three beautiful distinct areas: the colourful Old English Formal Gardens, Lakeside Setting and Marquee Site.

 The Formal Gardens:

  • Flower beds enhanced by seasonal planting of thousands of colourful bedding plants
  • Stone paths interlocking each lawn
  • Pretty pool house with hanging baskets, by a tiled swimming pool from which reception drinks are served
  • Ornamental pond with fountain and waterfall
  • Group and confetti photo lawn, with 16th century Manor house facade
  • Tree lined avenue driveway which is very popular for photography
  • Hanging baskets, large pots and urns full of strikingly colourful flowers and plants throughout the whole venue
  • Teak wooden tables and chairs for your guests' relaxation during reception drinks and canapés if you wish
  • Wooden traditional lawn games set out across the formal gardens include: croquet, boules, quoits, roll a ball, noughts and crosses, skittles
  • Venue is floodlit from sunset
  • Gazebo is illuminated at night for romantic evening photos shots

Lakeside setting:

  • Large rural lake with wild life
  • Floating gazebo with palm trees
  • Open sided marquee over looking the lake
  • Great views for photo opportunities  eg. The ‘Monet’ shot
  • Lit up at night by flambeaux torches and lanterns

Marquee Site:

  • Meeting arch with hanging baskets
  • Sandstone paved footpath to the Receiving Circle, marquee and conveniences
  • Glass topped tables with chairs for guests to enjoy lakeside setting
  • Chainsaw tree trunk sculpture of Bride and Groom
  • Parade of trees housing lawn games such as giant Connect 4, giant Jenga, giant Draughts, giant Dominoes and giant Memory Game
  • Paddocks border the lakeside meadow with four friendly Shetland ponies
